Re: Community Forum Scheduled for Wednesday March 29
4:30--7:30 PM
OWASA Conference Room

A Strategic Planning Committee has been organized by the Board of Directors to review the IFC's role and responsibilities in the community. The Committee is composed of representatives from the Board, paid staff, volunteers, clergy, consumers and the community. Among the many questions to be addressed by the committee are:
  • What is the mission of the IFC?
  • What kind of services should we provide in the future?
  • How should we be structured?
  • What is our relationship to volunteers?
  • How do others perceive our role as an agency?
  • What are the IFC's realistic relocation plans?
IFC is experiencing a time of transition unlike any in our history. The Committee hopes to conduct as open a planning process as possible, so that we hear from a variety of staff, volunteers, consumers, and others who care about the future of the organization.

On March 29, the Committee will hold an open forum at which all are welcome. We will focus on hearing what those in attendance think are the most important issues and challenges facing the IFC right now. We will also take a look at the larger environment in which IFC operates, to identify political, social, economic and other trends of which we must take account as we plan the IFC's future.

We encourage your participation in this important discussion. We want to hear from you and others in the IFC family. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact IFC President, Pamela Smith, or me.
