CROPWALK 2002
An apologetic Mother Nature provided perfect weather for
this years16th Annual CROPWALK, making up for the
cold and wet that canceled last years event. Under
sunny blue skies and seventy degree temperatures, nearly
700 civic-minded people from Chapel Hill and Carrboro talked
the talk and walked the walk in order to benefit the Inter-Faith
Council and Church World Service. After a 10 kilometer march
through rich and poor neighborhoods of Chapel Hill and Carrboro,
the walkers returned to the Carrboro Town Commons for food,
music, and certificates for free bread from Great Harvest
Bakery.
If you admired the CROPWALK t-shirts this year, this is
your chance to get in on the action! Submit an original
design for next years 17th Annual CROPWALK and if
your design is chosen, your family/congregation/organization
will be the official CROPWALK Grand Marshall! Youll
walk at the head of the pack, receive free t-shirts with
your design, and enjoy the pride that comes with having
your artwork displayed on hundreds of sweaty people! Send
designs to Leila Dillon, Inter-Faith Council, 110 W. Main
Street, Carrboro, NC 27510. Deadline: December 31, 2002.
