The Stewards Fund Challenge
The trustees of The Stewards Fund issued a $97,500 challenge grant to the IFC Board of Directors. This grant is designed to help raise funds from new donors, increased gifts from existing donors, and funds from lapsed donors. The challenge period started on October 1 and ends December 31, 2014.
All challenge grants are all or nothing, meaning that unless we reach the stated goal we will not receive any funds from The Stewards Fund. If by December 31st we have raised $97,500 in gifts from new and lapsed donors, or increased gifts from existing donors, The Stewards Fund will match that amount dollar for dollar!
So, if you have never given to the IFC, now would be a great time to start! If we meet our goal, your entire contribution would be matched by The Stewards Fund, effectively doubling the impact of your gift.
Likewise, if you haven’t given to the IFC since June 30, 2012, you are considered a lapsed donor and any gift you make during this match period would be automatically doubled.
Finally, if your total donations this year exceed the amount you gave to the IFC during 2013, the difference will be matched. Say you already donated as much to IFC this year as you usually do. During the challenge period, you could donate a holiday meal for $25, and your gift would be doubled!
This is a great way to increase the impact of your donation. Please consider helping us meet this important challenge. This matching gift is crucial for allowing IFC to continue helping local homeless and low-wage people with shelter, food, crisis intervention and other basic services.

Get a young donor who has never given to IFC to consider a first-time gift through the Indy Week’s Give!Guide starting November 9.
