Executive Assistant
the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service is in need of a highly responsible and well organized
administrative professional that performs complex and skilled clerical duties for the Executive
Director, Board and agency's administrative unit. The Executive Assistant will have effective verbal,
telecommunication and inter-personal skills. Top-notch written and computer skills are a must for
preparing correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, public relations materials, written
practices/procedures and memorandums for the Executive Director and other staff. This position entails a
variety of tasks, multi-tasking and willingness to assist with organizational changes. Any website
maintenance skills and experience working with volunteers would be a plus. Basic administrative tasks
such as filing, copying, and familiarity with office machines are also part of the package.

Hispanic Services Coordinator (AmeriCorps)
Looking for individual who would like to participate in the AmeriCorps program and serve at Inter-Faith
Council in the role of Hispanic Services Coordinator. This person's responsibilities include: provide
emergency financial, food and clothing assistance to Spanish-speaking clients, provide referral
information, keep client and program files and records accurate and up-to-date, recruit and train
volunteers and participate in relevant agency and community meetings.
Candidate must: 1) be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident, 2) be at least 17 years old, 3) have a
high school diploma or GED or obtain one while serving, 4) be sensitive to cross-cultural issues. Good
written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, knowledge of local resources and experience
working with Spanish-speaking populations preferred. AmeriCorps provides a monthly stipend, the
opportunity to share with people of other cultures and upon completion of the service year, an educational
grant of up to $4,725. This is a 32-35 hour per week position with some evening hours, beginning
September 1, 2008 and ending August 31, 2009.

HomeStart Social Worker
This position located at our HomeStart shelter in Chapel Hill, provides case management for the women and
children in our long-term residential facility. Duties include: screening referrals, interviewing
prospective applicants, referring those not eligible to other programs, case management for those accepted,
keeping accurate and up-to-date case files, reporting data, coordinating with other agencies, transporting
clients when necessary, leading house meetings, evaluating progress and coordinating activities for the
clients. Participation in bi-weekly staff meetings, monthly house meetings, and weekly case conferences,
among others, is required. A sense of humor and an abundance of patience are required. You must enjoy
working with a variety of people from culturally diverse backgrounds, be computer proficient and be
able to clearly motivate and communicate with others. A documented interest in issues related to
homelessness, hunger and poverty is required, and your Spanish language skills will add to our interest.
We would prefer an MSW with at least three years of experience, but will consider relevant experience.
The salary range for this position is $28,000 - $46,000 and includes a generous benefits package.
