IFC Welcomes Donor Development Manager
Katherine Hester Doehring is IFC’s new Donor Development Manager! Katherine joined IFC's team on October 22. Katherine is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and has served in a wide variety of roles in the nonprofit sector. Most recently, Katherine served as Program Director in Volunteer Engagement for Alumni Engagement and Development at Duke University, where she managed all operations of the global Duke Alumni Board.
Prior to her role at Duke, Katherine served for seven years as a hospital chaplain in the greater Houston area. Amid the pandemic, Katherine provided direct support to COVID ICUs and spearheaded an innovative peer-to-peer support program among frontline healthcare workers. Katherine also served as Director of United Campus Ministry where she led a board of directors to revitalize funding of Presbyterian campus ministry at Texas A&M University.
Katherine completed a B.A. in Studio Art from Davidson College in 2008, and in 2013, graduated summa cum laude from Duke Divinity School with an M.Div. A proud native North Carolinian, Katherine grew up at Wrightsville Beach and currently lives in Durham with her two beloved sons. Katherine enjoys volunteering with her sons' public school and Cub Scout pack, and enjoying NC beaches and mountains, local art galleries, and live music—especially bluegrass!
Katherine is passionate about IFC's mission to holistically address both the causes and effects of systemic poverty, and is eager to bring her experience in nonprofit engagement and strategic program innovation to grow our impact in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community.
