Volunteer Appreciation Week 2026

At IFC, our volunteers are at the heart of our mission—every single day. Quite simply, we could not do this work without our volunteers' energy, resourcefulness, kindness, generosity, creativity, and long-standing commitment.

It’s hard to fully capture what our volunteers mean to us, but we’ve tried! Below are words of gratitude from our staff and members, plus a special video where we reflect on what we appreciate about IFC volunteers.

IFC volunteers, please know how deeply we appreciate all that you do—in ways big and small, visible and unseen—to support our community and our shared mission.

"What I Appreciate About IFC Volunteers..."

From Members:

"I love you all so much! Thank you for everything you’ve done for me!" - Candace

"Thank you for EVERYTHING!" - Daniel

"I appreciate IFC volunteers for doing a wonderful job. Thank you!" - Champ

"The volunteers are very kind and friendly. Their smiles change people’s day! Thank you!"

"IFC volunteers are kind!"

"They show love!"

"They make me feel like their favorite person!"

From Staff:

I appreciate their dedication and willingness to serve. They always say what we are doing is great, but there is so much we could not get done without their help. The genuine care they show in their time, work, and donations is the true definition of a servant.

- Bernestine, Community House Case Manager

I am amazed at the consistency and dedication of IFC volunteers. Many give significant time on a monthly and even weekly basis. Many have also volunteered for longer than I’ve been alive—which is mind-blowing! IFC simply could not do this work—let alone exist—without our volunteers!

- Katherine, Donor Development Manager

I appreciate IFC volunteers for showing me what it looks like to be engaged in community in a meaningful way. I’ve always wanted to be an IFC volunteer “when I grow up”!

- Stephani, Grants & Contracts Manager

What makes IFC volunteers special is their commitment to serving the community with kindness and respect, no matter the situation. They treat everyone with care and bring a positive and supportive energy to both members and staff.

- Ginna, Member Services Advocate

Volunteering at IFC is about much more than sorting groceries, serving a meal, or assisting with maintenance and repairs in our facilities. It's a special opportunity to make a positive impact on our community, honoring individual life experiences with sensitivity and awareness. Learn more and apply to volunteer today!
